Parkwest Medical Center Technical Innovations
- 3.0 Tesla MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) unit to double imaging strength and speed
- GE LightSpeed 64-slice CT scanner (VCT), which has four times as many detectors as a typical multi-detector CT scanner, combines unrivaled image quality with remarkable speed. It can produce detailed pictures of any organ in a few seconds and provide sharp, clear, three-dimensional images, including 3-D views of the blood vessels, in seconds.
The VCT can scan a chest/abdomen/pelvis in 3.4 seconds and has increased resolution which provides better image quality. With this advanced image quality, Parkwest can perform non-invasive angiography (including cardiac, head, neck, abdomen, and extremities imaging) in less time and at a reduced cost to the patient.
- GE LOGIQ-9 Ultrasound, utilizes a new medical imaging technique called Volume Ultrasound, which produces high-definition, multi-dimensional images in both video clips and still shots that can be viewed in any plane and in real-time modes, which was previously not possible with traditional ultrasound techniques.
