Other Quality Data
Covenant Health recognizes that other organizations collect data on the quality of care at hospitals and understands that there are a great deal of different opinions as to reliability and timeliness of such data. We would like to give you, the consumer, the opportunity to examine a few other websites for organizations that have rated the hospitals of Covenant Health in various quality areas.
- Leapfrog Group - The Leapfrog Group is an initiative driven by organizations that buy health care who are working to initiate breakthrough improvements in the safety, quality and affordability of healthcare for Americans. It is a voluntary program aimed at mobilizing employer purchasing power to alert America’s health industry that big leaps in health care safety, quality and customer value will be recognized and rewarded.
- HealthInsight - HealthInsight is a private, non-profit organization which computes hospital rankings based on publicly reported data from the Hospital Compare web site, including hospital-specific performance on 20 quality measures for over 4,000 hospitals nationwide. Under a contract to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, HealthInsight serves as the Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) for Utah and Nevada.
Covenant Health’s quality improvement efforts focus on developing standards and practices which support clinical excellence and better patient outcomes. The reports and links on this website also represent clinical data and evidence-based standards for patient care. Other hospital quality reports are available, but some, such as Healthgrades or The Delta Group, use billing data rather than statistics related to clinical quality. Reports of this type are not summarized or linked on covenantquality.com
